Mr. Oizo: Master of Puppets

It’s time to recognize.  One of my personal favorites, Mr. Oizo (né Quentin Dupieux), recently graced the cover of XLR8R Magazine.  You might remember him from 1999 when his song “Flat Beat” (from his album Analog Worms Attack) was used in a Levi’s commercial.  The commercial also features Flat Eric, a puppet-brainchild of Mr. Oizo’s, rocking out to his beats.

Electronic music producer and filmmaker, Mr. Oizo never ceases to amuse and amaze.  He’s also the daddy of the 2007 French film Steak (totally in my top 5 list), which stars his Ed Banger BFFs such as Kavinsky and SebastiAn, and a sweet cameo from the lovely Sébastien Tellier.  The soundtrack (produced by Mr. Oizo and SebastiAn) is just as brilliant as the film.  No lie.  English subtitles aren’t available yet, so grab a French friend and get to watching!

C.H.I.V.E.R.S.(mp3)from the Steak original soundtrack.  Listen and love.

Check out the article in XLR8R (in a new window) while you listen.

Hail Mr. Oizo! We love him, and are producing a new line of teen wear reflecting the freedom of thought, dreams and style of ease. Would be great to call this the Mr. Oizo line using Flat Beat but of course there are permissions. Who and how can we get in contact?
Greetings of peace on love from Istanbul!
